I can help

I set up Gower Therapy to offer talk therapy to people who have long term conditions and those who are bereaved. Additionally I support those with other struggles such as needing support with confidence, self-esteem and substance dependency. I work with adults (of any age) and young people, I see children from age 11 years. I also work with families and carers.

I am empathetic, compassionate and non-judgmental, providing a safe space for clients to share their thoughts and feelings.

If you are experiencing a crisis and require urgent support, please contact your GP or dial 111 out of hours. Alternatively, call the Samaritans on 116 123. If your enquiry does not require an urgent response, please leave me a message and I will return your call.

My name is Rachel Woollacott and I work as a person-centred therapist based in beautiful Caswell.

I have spent over 25 years working in the NHS. I am a trained nurse and a trained humanist counsellor. I have over seven years counselling experience, in addition to a wide range of nursing practice. This gave me a detailed understanding of how long-term physical and psychological conditions can have an impact on someone’s quality of life.

Before I set up Gower Therapy, I was a bereavement counsellor for the NHS and I currently practice as a Chronic Conditions Nurse. During my career, I began to realise that the people I was caring for and their families/carers needed more than just the physical assistance to help them to manage their conditions. Often, the patients/carers needed to talk with someone about what was happening to them or their loved one.
